Beyond the Bar Chart: A Candid Review of Venngage as a Data Visualization Tool Everyone's attention span has become shorter than a TikTok clip, and thus, you can't just tell people data; you have to show it as well. I am someone who has wasted too much time staring at dull data and trying to make PowerPoint charts not look so bad and hence, I am on a mission to find a software that really helps to make information design easier. This mission brought me to Venngage . While a general design tool tries to cover everything from photo editing to video, Venngage is very straightforward about one thing: Infographics. I used it for an entire week making business reports, process diagrams, and social media data visualizations. Here is my opinion on whether it deserves the praise. What Precisely is Venngage? Venngage is a browser-based design tool with a user-friendly interface developed especially for people who are not professional designers but still have to present data-rich information in a clear and engaging way. You can say it is a "thinking person's" tool for design. Apart from being used by HRs for onboarding manuals, marketers for white papers and consultants for client reports, the tool is geared towards taking a "data dump" and converting it into an organized and sensible story. The Structure of an Infographic: Unique Features What makes Venngage a cut above a standard drag-and-drop editor? It is the feature set that is specific to the task that makes the difference.
The Reality Check: The Cons The Free Tier is Limited: You design for free but, without a subscription, you cannot download your creations. So, one can say that a free-forever tool it is not; rather, it is a "trial". No Mobile App: Venngage, however, is only a desktop browser experience. Considering that infographics are quite elaborate this is very reasonable, but it is worth mentioning anyway if you dig on designing while being mobile.
The Verdict: Who is Venngage For? Venngage is perfect for business professionals, educators, and project managers who are basically those that need to explain a "how-to," a "why," or a "how much." When you only want to make a cool, artsy Instagram post, then, you have at your disposal other tools. However, if your aim is to get people to understand what you are saying, then Venngage is without any match. It is as if you were showing someone not a heap of bricks but rather a house that is built.
